Snoop Dogg brought his “Cali to Canada” tour to Scotiabank Arena in Toronto this past Wednesday along with Warren G, DJ Quik, and DJ Green Lantern, with a surprise set by Daz and Kurupt of The Dogg Pound, or at least it was for me as I definitely didn’t see them listed on the tour, so it was definitely a welcome surprise hearing some absolute OG’s perform!
Everything was set off by Canadian rapper Merkules, followed by absolute legends in this game – DJ Quik and Warren G. You forget just how many tracks DJ Quik has produced and been on so it was basically a walk down memory lane for most of his set, as well as for Warren G’s, Mr. Regulators himself, he did his thing as usual.
We saw Snoop and Warren G at Budweiser Stage last year too as part of their tour with Wiz Khalifa and the set up of the set was very much similar this time around as well. Problem ? Not even a little bit. I could watch Snoop roll out on stage in his whip to “The Next Episode” playing in the background any single day of the week! For those that love and appreciate the 90’s and 2000’s hip-hop vibes, this concert had it all, and it’s no wonder it was a packed arena. It’s a treat watching the OG’s in this game perform and do what they do best, and we gotta all give them their flowers while they’re all still around because they deserve every single one of them!
