Carlos Santana was in Toronto at Budweiser Stage with an experience to remember for all in attendance, as Santana delivered a masterful showcase of his legendary guitar skills and timeless music. The evening was a highlight of the Oneness Tour, a collaboration with Counting Crows, and it certainly lived up to the anticipation.

The setlist was a well-curated journey through Santana’s career, blending classic hits with newer material. Highlights included “Black Magic Woman,” and “Oye Como Va,” which had the crowd dancing and singing along. The soulful “Europa (Earth’s Cry Heaven’s Smile)” and the uplifting smash hit, which just happens to be one of my favourite songs of his, “Maria Maria” also stood out, showcasing Santana’s ability to blend rock, Latin, and jazz influences seamlessly. The night was capped off with yet another one of his smash hits, “Smooth”. Also, what absolutely must be mentioned from the night is that Cindy Blackman, who is also Santana’s wife, is an absolute monster on the drums! She had 2 or 3 different solos throughout the show where she showcased her drumming skills for everyone, and they were nothing short of spectacular, and the crowd thanked her with a loud applause after she was done.

From the moment Santana took the stage, his energy was infectious. His guitar playing ability is legendary for a reason and it was showcased that night as he showed us all what he can do with such ease. Adding to it all was the beautiful setting of Budweiser Stage, with everyone enjoying all the vibes on the waterfront.

For those who missed the Toronto show, the tour continues across North America. Check out the night:
