Lil Wayne’s 6th stop as part of his “Welcome To Tha Carter” tour was right here in Toronto at History – 6th stop in the 6 ? Coincidence ? I’ll just assume it was preplanned lol.

The crowd really came out, and were treated with about a 40 minute opening set by a local artist named Drake, maybe some of you have heard of him, but based on his performance, I think he’s going to blow up real soon! Drake joked how this was the first time he’s come out to perform at 8:30PM in about 13 years, but he wanted to do it for “his boss”, the “greatest rapper of all time” – Lil Wayne. He came out before Weezy to pay homage to the days when Drake started out and was opening up shows for him.

Lil Wayne came out with that energy we’ve all grown to know, performing some of his big hits like “A Milli”, “How to Love”, “Mrs. Officer”, “Go DJ” and many more, as well as some of his mixtape tracks. Wayne also brought out a few of his Young Money artists to perform two or three songs each. Drake, that local artist we talked about, re-joined him on stage again for a couple tracks towards the end, before showing love for Wayne, saying how much he truly means to him, and hugging it up on stage.

Was a great concert, great vibes, and I’m hoping to see Lil Wayne going on tour more often in the near future, and speaking of tours, the local boy Drake announced that he’ll be touring soon and the dates are coming soon!
